Back to Blog

It is true, what they say about Instagram:
It will take over your blogging life.

It's been three and a half months since we last met and my oh my has our little Chandler grown. At SEVEN MONTHS OLD (Can you believe that?), he eats solid foods, sleeps around 13 hours every single night and naps around 3 hours every day, is still absolutely glued to his paci, is working on crawling and cutting teeth, says "dada" and is still the happiest little chubby bunny we know.

He's such a good baby!

I would love to say that I'm back for good, but with our moving date coming up quickly (don't worry, we're not going far), I can't promise I'll have internet right away. I'll do my best and update when possible, but until then, please feel free to follow us on Instagram (@divaqueendowler)for daily chan-stagrams!

Side-note: HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY TO ME! :D

Visitors

Jordan's older brother, Matt, is deploying for the first time next month, to Afghanistan. For his pre-deployment leave, he drove here from White Sands, New Mexico. A few days later, Jordan's mom, Vickie, flew in to join in on the fun! We had such a great time visiting and playing tourists in our own town, and Chandler had so much fun with his Uncle Buff Stuff and Gramma Vick!

While they were here, Jordan, Matt, Candace (my friend and Matt's girlfriend) and I went to Denver to watch our LA Angels take down the Colorado Rockies. It was such a great game, although it was SCORCHING hot at 95 degrees at 6,500 ft with absolutely no shade. We all left with a little color (varying from shades of bright red to tan) and smiles on our faces.

Four Generations

Left to Right: Sassy, Mama, Critter and GG

My Grammy (Chandler's GG) had a layover in Denver,
while my mom (Chandler's Sassy) was visiting,
so we met her for lunch at the airport!
Chandler had a great time meeting GG,
while we caught up over margaritas
and tacos at the Cantina.

We can't wait to see them again soon!

Happy thoughts and hugs to GG,
who's getting knee surgery this week.
WE LOVE YOU!

Chandler's First Easter

Chandler's first Easter was also
Mama and Daddy's first Easter together!
So it was a big day of firsts, and we went all out...

We dyed eggs (Chandler wasn't really into it).

The Easter Bunny came!

We invited friends over for an incredible dinner of
BBQ'd ribs and burgers,
homemade au gratin potatoes,
deviled eggs (of course),
sliced watermelon and fresh green beans.

Chandler looked so cute in his swing,
which just happens to have bunny ears.

We had a great first Easter!

Baby Shower

This week, I flew home for my baby shower! Jordan's Aunt Brenda and cousin Mac (meet her at The Fitting) threw me the sweetest cowboy themed shower. The food was made from scratch and divine [including sweet pulled pork sliders, green chili and cheese cornbread, baked macaroni and cheese, gooey caramel popcorn balls and mini pecan pie tarts], the music on point, the company was plentiful and the gifts were to die for. Here are some pictures from the night ...

Thank you to everyone who made it so special,
and a very very very big thanks to Aunt Brenda and Mac!

Christmas in Colorado

This year, Jordan and I celebrated our very first Christmas together. Two years ago he was in Germany, and last year he was Afghanistan. It was so much fun to mesh our family traditions and come up with a few of our own. We can't wait to share them with our little one next year!

My little sister, Aimee, flew in to celebrate with us! On Christmas Eve we had a Mexican fiesta, watched The Grinch, and hung out in our cozy new Christmas jams (Thanks, Mom!). On Christmas morning, we had our traditional breakfast, opened gifts, played games and then joined some friends for dinner. Here are a few pictures from the weekend...

Aimee also "rainbow-tized" our DVD collection
(within an hour of arriving, none the less).

Merry Christmas from the Dowlers in Colorado!

Thankful Thanksgiving

I am grateful to be spending this Thanksgiving, for the first time ever, with my wonderful, loving, handsome husband; I am thankful for my incredibly beautiful mom and equally wonderful little sister; my amazing cousins, who are more like long lost siblings; my sweet grandparents who've been such an inspiration of love in my life; my awesome mother/brothers/sister/family-in-love; my great friends who have stood by me, loved me and supported all my (sometimes unreasonable) choices; and for the little life growing inside me- although I've never met him, he is already one of my most favorite tiny guys in the world and I am already infinitely grateful to be his mama.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Today is a day to be celebrated with love, gratitude, another Packers win (11-0, baby!) and extra butter. Enjoy your holiday, eat more than you think you can handle (unbutton those pants and voila- more room!) and don't forget to save room for pie.

Wherever you are celebrating today, know that I love you and am sending all my happiest, warmest holiday thoughts your way, all the way from Colorado.

REMEMBER: CALORIES DON'T COUNT ON HOLIDAYS.

UPDATE: I just wanted to share with you all, what happens when you ask your husband to hold the dish of deviled eggs in the car, on the way to Thanksgiving dinner...
It's a really good thing he's cute.
