Back to Blog

It is true, what they say about Instagram:
It will take over your blogging life.

It's been three and a half months since we last met and my oh my has our little Chandler grown. At SEVEN MONTHS OLD (Can you believe that?), he eats solid foods, sleeps around 13 hours every single night and naps around 3 hours every day, is still absolutely glued to his paci, is working on crawling and cutting teeth, says "dada" and is still the happiest little chubby bunny we know.

He's such a good baby!

I would love to say that I'm back for good, but with our moving date coming up quickly (don't worry, we're not going far), I can't promise I'll have internet right away. I'll do my best and update when possible, but until then, please feel free to follow us on Instagram (@divaqueendowler)for daily chan-stagrams!

Side-note: HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY TO ME! :D

Our Bedtime Routine

Now that Chandler has his bedtime routine down pat, we're all happy and rested! At 7:30pm, we give him a bath and let him splash for a minute, before greasing him up with lavender baby lotion. Then we put on his jammies and feed him a big bottle of rice and formula. When he's finished, we snuggle for just a little while longer, before laying him in his crib at 8:00pm. He goes right to sleep and doesn't wake up until 5:30am for a bottle, and then goes back down again until 7:30am, when he's up for the day. Since Jordan leaves for work around the same time Chandler wakes up to eat, it makes it really easy to get up and have the bottle ready for him before he gets too fussy.

Jordan's older brother, Matt, is deploying for the first time next month, to Afghanistan. For his pre-deployment leave, he drove here from White Sands, New Mexico. A few days later, Jordan's mom, Vickie, flew in to join in on the fun! We had such a great time visiting and playing tourists in our own town, and Chandler had so much fun with his Uncle Buff Stuff and Gramma Vick!

While they were here, Jordan, Matt, Candace (my friend and Matt's girlfriend) and I went to Denver to watch our LA Angels take down the Colorado Rockies. It was such a great game, although it was SCORCHING hot at 95 degrees at 6,500 ft with absolutely no shade. We all left with a little color (varying from shades of bright red to tan) and smiles on our faces.

Both within the same week,
we celebrated my very first Mother's Day,
and Jordan and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary!

Spending an entire week celebrating my family was absolutely wonderful. I'm the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call those two boys my own, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.
Jordan and Chandler, I love you guys so much!

I cannot believe how quickly time is flying, with this little love. At three months, Chandler...

is extremely ticklish,
has found his voice and baby-talks all day long,
loves bath time, and has begun splashing around,
is almost grown out of all his size 3 month clothes
*le sigh*,
has also almost completely outgrown his size 1 diapers,
sleeps in his own room now, from 8:00pm to 7:30am,
tries so hard to suck his thumb,
and holds his head up like a champ.

We're BACK!

OH MY BLOG! I've been so busy changing diapers, that I almost forgot about le blog! Fear not: I'm here now, with plenty of time (thank prada for nap time) to update you all on what's been going on in the House of Dow, over the last month.

Between visits from family members, a growing baby, holidays and all the other happenings, we've had a busy few weeks. So sit tight and check back soon for lots of updates!

Our Trip to Utah

Chandler and I went on a trip to Utah!
There, he met more of his family,
and played with new baby friends!

He was an absolute dream on the plane, wide awake and looking around while not making a peep, on the way there. On the ride home, he slept from security in Salt Lake City, all the way to baggage claim in Denver! He's a great travel buddy. Unfortunately, Jordan couldn't come with us, since he's been training in the field for the last six weeks (I finally get to pick him up today!).
We surprised his Grandma Vickie (Jordan's mom) at work- she had no idea we were coming into town. It was an incredible moment, watching her look up from her computer, to unexpectedly meet her first and only grandbaby. Truly amazing.

Chandler also met his Auntie Rainbow Cat (my little sister, Aimee), his Uncle Jared (Jordan's oldest brother) and a few other family members and friends. He had lots of snuggle time with his Sassy (my mom) and GG (my Grammy), which allowed me to catch up on some beauty sleep (fabulous).

We had a great time in Utah, and can't wait to go back- next time, we'll be bringing our big man of the house. If we didn't get to see you, I apologize and we'll see you next time! Love to all!

Two months have come and gone by so quickly!

At TWO MONTHS, Chandler...

Still loves his paci, and is much better at keeping it in

Takes one long nap and several cat naps during the day,
and wakes up only twice during the night

Smiles almost all day long (even in his sleep)

Wears size one diapers and three month clothes

Weighs 11 pounds, 2 ounces

And still makes the funniest faces I've ever seen

We love you so much, Chan Doggie!

Lots of Firsts

I can't believe my little Chandler is going to be TWO months old tomorrow. It seems like we brought him home from the hospital just last week! In the last week alone, he's grown so much.

We went to the park for the first time.
I forgot his sunglasses and hat,
but luckily remembered the sunscreen.
He did NOT like the swing, but enjoyed the slide.
He was so excited about being outside,
he pooped all the way up to his neck...
...and I ran out of wipes before he was clean.
It was quite an adventure!

He took a nap in his crib, for the very first time.
It was short lived, but he fell asleep none the less.
He looks so tiny in the big bed!

And the best part of all, he started smiling a little bit.
We're still waiting on the big toothless grins,
But this will certainly do, in the meantime.

I'll be posting his two month photo and stats in the next few days,
 so keep your eyes peeled!

Four Generations

Left to Right: Sassy, Mama, Critter and GG

My Grammy (Chandler's GG) had a layover in Denver,
while my mom (Chandler's Sassy) was visiting,
so we met her for lunch at the airport!
Chandler had a great time meeting GG,
while we caught up over margaritas
and tacos at the Cantina.

We can't wait to see them again soon!

Happy thoughts and hugs to GG,
who's getting knee surgery this week.

Chandler's First Easter

Chandler's first Easter was also
Mama and Daddy's first Easter together!
So it was a big day of firsts, and we went all out...

We dyed eggs (Chandler wasn't really into it).

The Easter Bunny came!

We invited friends over for an incredible dinner of
BBQ'd ribs and burgers,
homemade au gratin potatoes,
deviled eggs (of course),
sliced watermelon and fresh green beans.

Chandler looked so cute in his swing,
which just happens to have bunny ears.

We had a great first Easter!

Sassy's Visit

My mom came to visit, from Dallas!
I hadn't seen her since September,
so we had a lot of catching up to do
(even though we talk almost every day on the phone).
She held Chandler about 18 hours a day, which he loved.

Since she's a young grandma,
we wanted to choose a more fitting name for her.
Chandler looooves his SASSY!

(crossing my fingers that I'll look that good at her age...)

We can't wait for her to come back again soon!

Newborn Photos

Look at this sweet little boy.
I can't help but fall more and more in
love with him, every single second.
He is all I ever dreamed of, and more.
He is absolutely perfect...

Garden of the Gods

Today, we went to the Garden of the Gods.

My mom, Jordan, Chandler and I braved some pretty big wind gusts to climb the beautiful rocks.

When I say climb, I mean jeans and Vans shoes type climb-
no ropes, no spandex, no helmets...

"Climb ON" might be a bit more
descriptive of what we were doing...

Besides the wind, it was a beautiful Spring day.
We had a great time! It's like our own little mini-Moab,
only five minutes from our house! Love it.

[I'll blog about my mom's visit soon!]

I can't believe it!
My tiny little love bug is ONE MONTH OLD!

At ONE month old he...

Loves his paci but SO wants to eat his hands

Sleeps mostly through the night
(and day, for that matter)

Is super regulated in his schedule:
He sleeps, then eats, doesn't burb,
gets the hiccups, then goes poop.
In that order, every time.

Makes the funniest little faces

Fits into newborn diapers and clothes,
although most are still too big.

Weighs 7 lbs 2 oz
(up a pound and a half since birth)

And is the snuggliest little muffin man on Earth.

Daddy came home from Gunnery, just in time to celebrate!

Mommy and Daddy love you, Chandler Grey!

*If this monthly layout looks familiar, it's because I got the idea from my sweet friend Shawntae at A Little King And I. Check her out!*

Visiting Daddy at Work

Jordan has been in the field for the last ten days,
training for his upcoming deployment.

Today, he came back to the base for a couple hours
before going back into the field for a few more days,
and Chandler and I got to go visit him!

It was so good to have our family back together,
even if only for thirty minutes.
Jordan was so excited to see his little baby
(and a little bit excited to see me).

Chandler is growing so quickly!
In two days, he'll be ONE MONTH OLD!
I can't believe it.
Where has the time gone?
